FC Bayern fans continue to be presented with names of supposedly possible new coaches for the record champions at almost regular intervals.
On Monday evening, the “Bild” newspaper and the broadcaster Sky reported that sports director Max Eberl was increasingly looking at the English Premier League, and there was supposed to be discussion about former Belgian Bundesliga professional Vincent Kompany. The 38-year-old was relegated with Burnley FC.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also mentioned Kompany’s name in connection with FC Bayern. He was discussed as one of several possible candidates. Kompany once played for Hamburger SV and enjoyed his most successful time as a professional at Manchester City. He has only been a coach for a few years.
After several rejections, including from Xabi Alonso from champions Bayer Leverkusen and national coach Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern have been looking for weeks for a successor to Thomas Tuchel, who played his last game with the Munich team on Saturday in a 2-4 defeat at TSG Hoffenheim. Recently, rumors about the Italian Roberto De Zerbi did not come true.
