The German basketball players can again rely on captain Dennis Schröder in the World Cup group final against Slovenia. The 29-year-old guard is available for action after back problems in the game against Georgia, as a spokesman for the German Basketball Federation (DBB) confirmed shortly before the game started (1:10 p.m. / Magentasport).

Schröder had been substituted early in the game and then disappeared from the arena without comment. Against the Slovenians and NBA star Luka Doncic it is about winning the group. Both teams are already qualified for the quarterfinals.

Once again, national coach Gordon Herbert has to do without young star Franz Wagner, who has already missed the fourth game in a row due to his ankle injury. The 22-year-old suffered an ankle injury in the opening game against Japan and has had to take a break since then. It was initially unclear whether there would be enough for the quarter-finals on Wednesday in Manila. The DBB does not provide any details about Wagner’s injury. The Orlando Magic professional trained again this week, but mainly individually and without contact.
