Even without a dazzling music act, football fans can look forward to a spectacular halftime show at Sunday’s NFL game in Munich.
“The German women’s national team in flag football will give a presentation of the low-contact version of American football at a demonstration match,” said NFL Germany.
In flag football, the defensive end stops the ball-carrier by pulling a flag from his belt instead of tackling him. The goal of the league is to bring the sport to the Olympic Games in 2028. “Representatives of the International Olympic Committee will also be present on Sunday,” said Germany’s NFL boss Alexander Steinforth.
The NFL Flag Program is a central component of the NFL in Germany and is aimed at children and young people in particular as an alternative with fewer injuries. “We are currently investing a lot of time and money in this topic. For us, this is the entry point into the sport,” said Steinforth.
Football fans don’t have to go without music for the NFL cracker between the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “The block of entertainment is pulled forward and takes place just before kickoff,” Steinforth said. The German rap and pop musician Cro is supposed to set the mood in the sold-out Allianz Arena on Sunday.
