Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow was feeling some type of way after giving up a home run in the first inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. (Luke Hales / Getty Images) Tyler Glasnow didn’t last long in the Dodgers’ Sunday afternoon showdown against the Pirates, bowing out in the second inning due to some discomfort in his right shoulder, as announced by the team. Glasnow, who had to sit out the end of the 2024 season and postseason due to an elbow sprain, had to leave his last game against the Texas Rangers because of some pesky leg cramps. Seems like Sunday’s injury might be a bit more serious. After letting two solo homers slip by in the top of the first inning, Glasnow decided to give it another go in the second inning. After his second-to-last warmup pitch, the righty pitcher took a moment to stretch out his shoulder before getting back in the game. But as soon as he released the ball, he took a tumble to the side. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and a trainer rushed out to the mound to help Glasnow, and he had to be pulled from the game. Glasnow already had Tommy John surgery back in 2021 when he was with the Tampa Bay Rays. Lefty pitcher Blake Snell, who was brought in as a free agent, has been out of commission since April 6 due to inflammation in his left shoulder, and now his throwing program has been put on hold. Glasnow’s record stands at 1-0 with a 3.78 earned-run average from five starts, counting Sunday’s early exit. More to Read Get our Dodgers Dugout newsletter for insights, news and much more.
