The coalition Government in Cantabria, between the regionalist Miguel Angel Revilla and the PSOE, is almost buried. The vote against the deputy of the PRC, Jose Maria Mazon, in the investiture of the socialist Pedro Sanchez represents practically the end of the Executive between both parties. After confirming the negative, the socialists announced a meeting “extraordinary” of its executive this Wednesday, which will decide the future of the covenant. In the endowment session this Tuesday, Mazon censured for their intervention the agreement between PSOE and ERC, which he described as a “danger” for the autonomies.
last Friday, the PSOE had already warned his members of Government that the future of the coalition would depend upon the vote of the regionalist. In declarations to THE COUNTRY, the vice-president of the regional government and leader of the socialists in Cantabria, Pablo Zuloaga, reproached Revilla that his party has “left in uncertainty” to the region. “The covenant has broken this Tuesday the Party’s Regionalist, not the PSOE,” he said.
Zuloaga recalled that, last June, the PRC signed an agreement with the PSOE in order to ensure the support of the regionalists in the endowment failed of Sanchez, with the commitment of the future Government to allocate higher investments in the region. “Ask Revilla what will happen now with those commitments”, he said Zuloaga. The PRC charged Tuesday in a press release against the threat of rupture of the socialists, which he described as “irresponsible”. Revilla can govern alone, since the regional budgets were approved last December. The leader of the Popular Party, Pablo Casado, has already offered the last Saturday its support for the regionalist, in the case that the coalition will break.
