In view of the ongoing unrest in France, President Emmanuel Macron has canceled his state visit to Germany. In a telephone call with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Macron asked for the visit planned from July 2nd to 4th to be postponed.
Macron was supposed to come to Germany on Sunday for the first state visit by a French president in 23 years. In addition to Berlin, he was to stop in Ludwigsburg in Baden-Württemberg and in Dresden in Saxony, where he wanted to give a speech on Franco-German relations in front of the Frauenkirche.
