It was once again a decision that shows how stable the coalition is together. It wasn’t about much. On Friday, the Bundestag decided on the three-month continued operation of the nuclear power plants Isar 2, Emsland and Neckarwestheim 2. The question was: will the Greens go along with Scholz or stand in the way?
In the end, nine Greens voted against the compromise. This doesn’t really hurt anyone, changing the law still has a majority. And yet the nine resisters show that the issue of nuclear power is still very important, especially for a certain part of the party: the people of Lower Saxony.
