DOMRADIO.DE: The nearest Church to the Corona-Hotspot Rheda-Wiedenbrück, the St. Clemens Church. The pastor of this Church, and at the same time the chief priest for the pastoral area of Rheda-Herzebrock-Clarholz, Thomas HENGST Beck is. How do you experience the current Situation?
pastor Thomas HENGST Beck (head of pastoral composite Rheda-Herzebrock-Clarholz): I experience a very troubled Situation. The streets are full of police, with the forces of law and Order, a great unrest and uncertainty among the people about how it goes. Ask yourself: Must we go on vacation? What is with our booked tours? How will we be taken outside of the circle? We will be thrown out, or like lepers treated?
There is also a General ill feeling, I would say. The anger is directed against the company, Tönnies, and your boss personally. Whether this is justified or not, is another question. But maybe the man at the moment, just needs a valve, in order to bring this inner pressure, this inner turmoil, this voltage to the outside.
DOMRADIO.DE: There are so many citizens who say: “we have always said that already.” How do you experience this conflict?
stallion Beck: in fact, many say now: Yes, we’ve known them always. Those who have always been against Tönnies, feel vindicated. The mood is now so opposite, I think, to Corona and not to a General change in awareness of the operation.
DOMRADIO.DE: How is the Situation in your local community? You can celebrate more Church services?
stallion Beck: Yes, we have advice on the pastoral team with the right offices in the city of Rheda-Wiedenbrück and the municipality of Herzebrock-Clarholz extensive. I have spoken with the mayor of Herzebrock-Clarholz. We have intensively studied what is included in the regulation. After the absence of explicit prohibitions have been pronounced, we have decided that we will continue to celebrate worship.
DOMRADIO.DE: you must, however, comply with certain protection mechanisms?
stallion Beck: Yes, we have adhered to from the beginning, here with us in St. Clemens is very strict. You had to be here, as it is still not mandatory to sign up the services in advance. When you come to worship, you must wear a mask, and the hands disinfected. The tracking of visitor is guaranteed to pay. The distance in our Church is not as required, 1.50 to 2 meters from seat to seat. I think that we are as well positioned.
DOMRADIO.DE: As you are in this Situation, as a pastor and a quasi-parish priest of Tönnies?
stallion Beck: For me personally, it is a challenge to be able to now not travel, after you couldn’t be Easter already in the family. Also a bit of perplexity. I don’t want to simply push into the Horn, and say: were always right and the others were in the wrong. But I asked in the sermon, whether they would be willing to make a change.
Because if something is to change, it means that the starts with me personally and in my wallet – not anywhere and not at some point, but for me, personally. This means then that I can’t afford much for myself. But others have more. If I don’t buy sausage any more for 69 cents, do I have to pay more. But this then leads, hopefully, to also, no one has to live in mass accommodation. Finally, I asked: do we Want to the really that in to me and to us something to change? The answer to this question later determined the price.
