March 8 is no cause for celebration for Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights activists. “On International Women’s Day, we want to express our anger at the threats to women’s lives and rights (…),” says the Pro Choice network website. “The end of Roe was just the beginning,” says Chantelle Piper, a co-organizer, the star. “If we don’t resist, there’s no telling where this will end.”
In big cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, the organizers are therefore calling for joint marches in green on Wednesday – the historic color of the global abortion protest. Their demand: “Legal abortion on demand and without apology”.
