When Israeli tanks rolled into the Gaza Strip on Saturday night, Meirav Leshem-Gonen felt literally crushed by their helplessness. Her daughter Romi is one of more than 220 hostages attacked by Hamas at a music festival on October 7 and taken to the Gaza Strip. She is frightened by the ever-increasing bombing of Gaza and the fighting on the ground. “I never got an answer as to how they were going to protect my child,” she says.
