There has been war in Sudan for over a year. Two rival generals and their armies are fighting for power: Sudan’s regular armed forces under the command of de facto President General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. And the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which obey his former deputy, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, known as Hemeti. Their conflict over questions of power escalated when the RSF was to be integrated into the army.
