The television cameras captured the attack on Argentina’s Vice President live, similar to the assassination attempt on American President John F. Kennedy: A bearded man makes his way through the crowd in front of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s house when the Clock just got out of her car. The attacker extends his right arm, in which he holds a semi-automatic pistol, a Bersa 360, loaded with five rounds. He pulls the trigger when the barrel of the gun is inches from the VP’s forehead. Kirchner screams, ducks down – and miraculously survives because the unlocked gun is jammed for unknown reasons.
