“I was very happy after the second goal. It was a difficult match for us against a tough opponent. We would win the match, because we were in a difficult situation, after we lost to FC Midtjylland in Herning. We must win all the matches now, and we must not lose points,” says Pieros Sotiriou.
The last seven FCK matches, with Pieros Sotiriou has been playing, he has now the net six times. It is such a shoal, cyprioten have been looking for. It has his manager, Stale Solbakken also, but he has never been dissatisfied with his attacker.
“I have always been happy for him. For me he is such a player, you dream of having in his squad. He always does his best. He was a bit unlucky with that, since he was at his best, we had lost half of the team in the Champions League. He scored otherwise, 14-15 goal,” says Stale Solbakken.

however, It appears not to worry him.
“I don’t care who is in front of me, and who is behind me. It means only something to me that I’m healthy, and I work every day on the training field. So is it Safirbet the coach’s decision who plays and who does not,” says Sotiriou.
And what about the criticism? It has been a part of to Pieros Sotiriou, for, though he always runs more than most of the other attackers, he has also in periods difficult to hold onto the ball and contribute with other than presspil for FC Copenhagen.
Now scores he, and the criticism changed to praise. But it is not something that takes up much of cyprioten.
“People are allowed to criticize me. I accept the criticism. Maybe it’s good, maybe it’s bad, but I don’t listen to it. I focus just on what I’m doing. That is the secret,” says Sotiriou and enjoys his feeling right now.
“I have lots of self-confidence. My job is to score goals, and I try in every match. There are periods of time where the player is up, and the other where the one is down. You need to work hard, and then gives the coach you what you deserve,” says Pieros Sotiriou.
Confidence or not so he has at least the backing of his boss – whatever the objective or not. Stale Solbakken likes of Pieros Sotiriou, and therefore he was also happy to see that it was him who turned it on a tough night for FC Copenhagen v Hobro.
“He is such a player, you can always rely 100 percent on. He creates a good atmosphere in the club and is super professional on all the parameters,” says Solbakken and ends.
“It is him, it means the most for in the whole world to play football and score goals. I have in him all that there is in the whole world.”
