US rapper Takeoff has been shot and killed in Houston, Texas, according to media reports.

Citing those close to the 28-year-old musician from the Grammy-nominated group Migos, Takeoff was said to have been killed at a Houston bowling alley. The police only spoke of an incident in which one person was killed. When asked, it was said that no details would be given until the autopsy. Other backgrounds remained unclear – but the police announced a press conference.

Kirsnick Khari Ball – known by his stage name Takeoff – formed the Atlanta, Georgia group Migos with rappers Quavo and Offset. Quavo was there on Tuesday night, citing the police, according to the New York Times. Migos has enjoyed great success in the United States over the past decade or so, after hits like “Bando,” “Versace,” and “Hannah Montana,” which combined abrupt rap with catchy choruses.
