The typical chino twill was originally used to make uniforms and trousers. However, the thin cotton fabric is now also used in the fashion industry, particularly in the production of trendy chinos for men and women. In addition to the airy, light material, the straight cut and the leg cuffs, which become narrower towards the bottom, are typical of the trendy leisure trousers – sometimes there is even a fine crease on them. How to combine (and wear) the trousers correctly is explained below.
Theoretically, the casual leisure trousers can be combined with anything, but the combination of chinos plus a T-shirt and sneakers is particularly popular this year. If you want something a little more chic, you can also choose a blouse or a blazer and wear it with pumps or sandals. For cooler days there is also a trendy combination of hoodie, denim jacket (preferably in an oversized look) and sneakers. As far as colors go, white, black, blue, rose or beige chinos will once again be trendy in 2024.
Due to the generous freedom of movement that chinos usually offer (otherwise choose a size larger), it is almost a stylish must-have to roll up the trouser legs slightly at the bottom. This gives the look – whether sporty or chic – an even more casual touch. But be careful: To ensure that the leisure trousers fit correctly, you should pay attention to the correct length when purchasing them. Ideally, the chinos end at ankle height or slightly below. It shouldn’t be any shorter, otherwise it would make your legs appear shorter.
