Tom Cruise (60) not only promotes his own “Mission: Impossible” film, the Hollywood star also campaigns for the competition. There will be a lot of great movies in cinemas this summer, Cruise wrote on Twitter.

“Congratulations Harrison Ford on 40 years of Indy,” one of the most “iconic” figures in history, Cruise gushed. He also posted a photo of himself with a movie ticket in front of a poster for Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny, the fifth installment in the legendary adventure film series.

Cruise is also promoting “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” both of which open in US theaters on July 21. “I love double screenings and it doesn’t get any more explosive than Oppenheimer and Barbie,” the star joked. The historical thriller “Oppenheimer” revolves around the physicist Robert Oppenheimer developing the atomic bomb. In the comedy “Barbie” Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling become the famous dolls. Cruise also posed for this with tickets in front of the film posters.

The “Barbie” makers reacted to the action star’s tweet with a joke. “We do our own stunts too,” they captioned a winking emoji alongside a short video of Barbie jumping off a roof in high heels. “You do stunts in heels, Agent Barbie? Impressive,” tweeted Mission: Impossible. Cruise reprises his role as super agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One. The film opens in US cinemas on July 12 and in Germany the day after.
