Upon reaching the location near Uttam Nagar East Metro Station, authorities discovered a silver car parked on the roadside with a newborn inside, crying uncontrollably in the sweltering heat. The infant, suffering from hunger and dehydration, was found in distress while the occupants of the vehicle were reportedly busy negotiating the sale.
The quick actions of the police led to the arrest of three suspects—Yasmin from Mohan Garden, Anjali from Malviya Nagar, and Jitendra from Madangir. A woman constable immediately took the newborn into her arms, providing comfort and care before rushing the child to a nearby hospital. Medical professionals confirmed that the baby was only a few days old, highlighting the urgency and severity of the situation.
Yasmin, one of the arrested individuals, revealed during interrogation that the baby was brought from the slums of Krishna Colony, with claims that the infant was transported from Gujarat. Anjali, another member of the gang, had arrived to collect the child and make the payment, while Jitendra was responsible for driving the vehicle. The deal, valued at Rs 5 lakh, was set to be finalized upon the delivery of the baby. Following Yasmin’s disclosure, authorities were able to locate and rescue a second infant, further unraveling the extent of the gang’s operations.
