This decision was made because of the big fight between the two countries over the Pahalgam terror strike. This attack was super scary and killed 26 people! The Department of Posts, which is under the Ministry of Communication, was the one that said “Stop the mail!”.
There were updates about the Pahalgam terror attack on May 3, 2025. India was like, “Yo, there are some bad guys from across the border that did this terrible thing, and we are going to punish them so hard!”. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was in a meeting with some big military people and was like, “You guys do whatever you want to crush these terrorists!”. It’s like a national mission to beat terrorism, they said after the meeting.
So, India was like, “Pakistan, you’re in big trouble!”. They stopped sharing water with them, closed the land border, and made their diplomatic relations worse. In return, Pakistan was like, “We’re not talking to you anymore, and we’re closing our airspace to your planes!”. They also stopped all the trade with India. It was a big mess!
Pakistan was very upset about India stopping the water flow and said it’s like a declaration of war. They were not happy at all! The tension between the two countries was super high, and nobody knew what was going to happen next. The situation was intense!
