Delhi Assembly Speaker Calls for Review of CAG Reports
In a proactive move towards accountability and transparency, Delhi assembly speaker Vijendra Gupta has called for a meeting with the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Public Undertakings to scrutinize the recent Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports. This meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday, 11th April, 2025, at 11 am in the MLA Lounge-I, Assembly Complex, Old Secretariat, Delhi-110054.
The announcement made by the Legislative Assembly Secretariat of Delhi highlighted the key agenda points for the meeting, including a presentation by the Accountant General (Audit) Delhi, the status of implementation of Audit Para Monitoring System (APMS), and the status of Action Taken Notes on reports presented during the Second Session of Delhi Legislative Assembly.

Among the distinguished attendees expected at the meeting are Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman, and BJP MLA Ajay Mahawar, Gajender Drail, among others. This gathering comes on the heels of the recent reception of an additional CAG audit report on “Prevention of Air Pollution from Vehicles” by the Delhi assembly on April 1.
Earlier, on March 24, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had presented the CAG report on the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), shedding light on operational inefficiencies and financial losses. The report, which covers the period from 2015-2016 to 2021-2022, has sparked criticism of the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration.
Analysis and Action Plans
The comprehensive assessment of DTC’s operational and financial aspects aims to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities within the organization. The audit delves into critical areas such as fleet management, revenue generation, operational sustainability, and compliance with public transport policies.
The findings of the CAG report point to significant irregularities in DTC operations, attributed to governmental mismanagement and negligence leading to a wastage of Delhi taxpayers’ money. As a response, the Committee on Government Undertakings has been tasked with reviewing the report and submitting their findings within three months. Additionally, the Transport Department and DTC are required to present their Action Taken Note to the Legislative Secretariat within one month.
