According to the data provided by the Directorate-general of Health (DGS), France has recorded 28 additional deaths related to the Covid-19 in the hospitals, bringing to 29 374 the total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic. “The gradual lifting and prudent déconfinement translates to a favourable evolution of the epidemiological situation on the national territory”, says the ministry, so that the government could soon announce measures to ease this déconfinement. The number of severe cases of Covid-19 requiring hospitalization in the icu continues to decline, with 879 patients, or 24 less than Wednesday.
The DGS confirms the downward curve for the more severe cases since the peak reached at the beginning of April (with more than 7 000 patients while in the icu due to the coronavirus). In total, 11 124 people are hospitalized for an infection COVID-19, with 136 new admissions recorded in 24 hours, but a daily balance is negative (-341). The data for deaths in institutions, social and medico-social (10 384 to date) will be updated on Tuesday by public Health, France.

Caution in Meurthe-et-Moselle
“The virus continues to circulate”, warns, however, the DGS, in which more than 218 homes grouped cases (or “clusters”) located from the 9th of may, but that is no longer active (for 92 of them) are under control. The situation in Meurthe-et-Moselle, however, “the object of special attention” because the incidence rate has exceeded these last days the threshold of vigilance of 10 positive cases per 100 000 inhabitants due to “the detection of clusters, in the course of the administration” and the increase in the number of screening tests performed.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 103 of 177 people were hospitalized, 18 of 185 in the icu, and 72 572 people have returned home.
