After repeated warning strikes on buses and trains in several federal states, according to union information, there is an agreement for the around 5,000 employees in the so-called railway collective agreement. In June you will initially receive a tax-free one-time payment of 1,500 euros and from October 300 euros more per month, as announced by the Verdi union. The term is therefore 18 months. The union and the employers agreed on this at the weekend in Fulda, it said.
“In the lower and middle salary groups, it means an increase of 9.3 to 13 percent and thus the urgently needed relief in view of the high inflation,” said Verdi negotiator Volker Nuss. Most recently, the union organized warning strikes at several transport companies in different federal states about a week ago. Buses and trains of local public transport (ÖPNV) were particularly affected.
The collective bargaining compromise that has now been found has nothing to do with the ongoing collective bargaining dispute between the railway and transport union (EVG) and around 50 railway companies in Germany. At Deutsche Bahn alone, the EVG negotiates for around 180,000 employees. The union has threatened further warning strikes.
