The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will be 167.06 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) tomorrow, Sunday, which will mean a drop of 12.3% compared to 190.5 euros this Saturday, according to the Latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), collected by Servimedia.

In this way, the price of electricity in the wholesale market will chain eight days below 200 euros, after exceeding said threshold during the previous six consecutive days.

The prices of the ‘pool’ have a direct impact on the regulated rate –the so-called PVPC–, to which almost 11 million households in the country are covered, and serve as a reference for the other 17 million who have contracted their supply in the free market.
