The price of electricity registers a rise this Thursday compared to Wednesday. Specifically, the average price of electricity is 170.81 euros/MWh, which is 5.22 euros more than yesterday’s price (165.59 euros/MWh), according to data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator ( OMIE) collected by EP.

The maximum price of electricity for this June 16 will be registered between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., with 210.44 euros/MWh, while the minimum for the day, of 150 euros/MWh, will be between 3:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m.

However, this price must include the compensation that demand will pay for cogeneration plants and combined cycles.

This charge, which is calculated on an hourly basis, has skyrocketed for this Thursday to an average of 88.2 euros/MWh, compared to 59 euros/MWh today, having to be paid by the consumers who benefit from the measure, the consumers of the regulated rate (PVPC) or those who, despite being in the free market, have an indexed rate.

In this way, the price that clients of the regulated rate will pay will be 259 euros/MWh on average, 15.6% more than the 224 euros/MWh to which it rose on Wednesday.
