This year, around one in four Germans will save on vacation. This is the result of a survey by the ADAC automobile club among 5,000 people, which will be presented on Wednesday and parts of which are available to the German Press Agency in advance.
According to this, 24 percent of those surveyed said that they would spend less money on a trip or do without it altogether. 23 percent will have a larger budget and 51 percent will have about the same amount of money for the vacation.
As recently as 2021, only 11 percent had reported a falling budget. Here, however, the comparison with the first Corona year 2020 could have influenced the result, in which many trips were cancelled. Basically, the need for vacation has grown: 32 percent currently say it is greater than in 2022. Only 6 percent say it is less. The ADAC will present further details of the survey in an online press conference on Wednesday.
