After the loss-making week of the previous week, the Dax was unable to maintain its initial stabilization on Monday and gave way again. A weak Ifo index had a negative impact. Fears of possible political consequences of the impending shift to the right in Italy after the parliamentary elections also provided negative impetus.
Around noon, the Dax lost 0.48 percent to 12,225.44 points. The MDax for medium-sized stocks, which had marked a low for more than two years on Friday, rose by 0.05 percent to 22,552.12 points. The leading eurozone index, the EuroStoxx 50, fell by around 0.3 percent. The mood in the German economy deteriorated significantly in September. The Ifo business climate fell to its lowest level since May 2020.
