Four percentage points in one year, that has never happened before: in mid-2022, the key interest rate in the euro zone was negative, now the deposit rate of the European Central Bank (ECB) is 3.75 percent and higher than it has been for more than 20 years. And this deposit rate, at which banks can park money overnight with the central bank, is important – it is the linchpin of numerous transactions on the capital market. So interest is back!
