With every rotation of the huge rotor blade in Brottewitz, Germany’s power supply becomes a little more secure. And on these stormy autumn days, the turbine makes a lot of revolutions. A sharp wind is blowing here near the Spreewald, around 80 kilometers south of Berlin. There is a lot of flat land, only three streets cross each other in town, but the blades of the Brottewitz wind turbine grind incessantly and supply around 4,000 households with electricity.
