Natural gas rates (TUR) will rise by an average of 10.4% from July 1, according to the quarterly review carried out by the Ministry for Ecological Transition. This data contrasts with the figures provided, once again, by that department headed by Teresa Ribera, which refers to increases in annual bills of between 6.41% and 8.44%.

Thus, TUR 1, for annual consumption of less than 5,000 kWh (households that only use natural gas for cooking or heating water), will increase by 9.7%; TUR 2, for annual consumption between 5,000 kWh and 15,000 kWh (in addition to using natural gas for cooking or heating water, they also have heating), 10.4%; and TUR 3, with annual consumption between 15,000 kWh and 50,000 kWh (households with large consumption and businesses), another 11%, according to the prices published today in the BOE.

In the previous review on April 1, rates also went up another 10% on average.

The TUR for natural gas is revised quarterly on the 1st day of the months of January, April, July and October of each year, and is updated whenever the cost of the raw material -in this case gas- experiences an upward or downward variation. the lower than 2% with respect to the cost of the raw material of the rate in force. Under Royal Decree-Law 17/2021, the increase in the cost of raw materials included in the TUR is limited to 15%, a measure that is maintained until the revision of January 1, 2023.
