When it comes to design, Peugeot has had a real run for years. With the current 508, a new design line was introduced for the French years ago and it is more impressive with each new model. After the Peugeot 408 presented itself as more emotional and worth seeing than ever, there is now a visual and technical revision for the 2008 and for the particularly important version of the electric e-2008. With its new light units at the front and rear, the compact electric crossover has again made significant gains, and the 2008 model is also impressive on the inside. The central touch display in the middle of the dashboard has grown from seven to ten inches screen diagonal.
The most important innovation, however, is the lookup in technology, because now there is the drive package that all new electric models from the Stellantis Group get. Instead of the previous 100 kW / 136 hp, there is an increase in output to at least 115 kW / 156 hp. Still not a lot, but definitely a step in the right direction. This also applies to the battery pack in the underbody, which has grown from 50 to 54 kWh and thus increased the range of the electric version from a meager 340 to over 400 kilometers. The maximum charging speed, on the other hand, remains manageable at 100 kilowatts. A single-phase charger with 7.4 kilowatts is on board as standard; With the optional on-board charger, the three-phase charging speed is reduced to 11.0 kilowatts at the home wall box or a public charging station. Its standard consumption: 15.9 kWh / 100 kilometers.
In addition to the electric version, the Peugeot 2008 will continue to be offered with various combustion engines. The two three-cylinder petrol engines with a displacement of 1.2 liters continue to deliver 74 kW / 100 hp and 96 kW / 130 hp. In addition, there is still a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel, which also has an output of 96 kW / 130 hp and, like the combustion version, is obligatorily coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. At the beginning of 2024, the French will lay out a hybrid version whose 100 kW / 136 hp petrol engine is coupled with an additional electric motor and dual-clutch transmission. This should not only reduce consumption in everyday use by around 15 percent, but also ensure that the Peugeot 2008 Hybrid is driving purely electrically half the time in city operation. The Peugeot 2008 /e-2008 is offered in three trim levels, Active, Allure and GT.
