Now Fiat is also getting serious about switching to electromobility. The Fiat 500 was already a show with its entry into the electric age and with the Topolino it gets a little sister and the 600e a big brother. The Topolino is intended purely as a vehicle for the city center and carries the drive of Citroen Ami or Opel Rocks e. Depending on the country, the Topolino as an electric two-seater version with lots of retro charm can be driven with a small insurance number and thus from the age of 15. The design of the 2.53 meter long electric model for the city center is reminiscent of the legendary Topolino, the original model of the Fiat 500 from the 1930s.
The 5.4 kWh battery provides a range of 75 kilometers and can be charged from a household socket in just under four hours. Door appliqués with a wood effect are available for the closed version, while summery stripes can be selected for the hood for the open version. In addition to numerous customization measures, the Topolino has a retro-design luggage box at the rear. The open body variant has its own design of the door sills and ropes in the door cutouts.
With the Fiat 600e, the big brother of the 500 looks much more mature. The design is based on the combustion engine variant, but has been refreshed with well-known details from the 500 electric. When it comes to the drive, the 4.17 meter long 600e uses the Stellantis group drive, which also powers other models from brands such as Peugeot and Opel. An electric motor with 115 kW / 156 hp works on the front axle, whose 54 kWh battery pack ensures a range of 400 kilometers before it has to go back to the charging station. Here the electric 600 can be refueled with a manageable 100 kilowatt charging speed before the journey continues. The base price: 36,490 euros.
Inside there is the well-known operation and space for up to five people, who can accommodate up to 360 liters of luggage behind the electric tailgate. Not only seat heating, but also a massage function for the driver’s seat, keyless entry and several storage compartments inside ensure comfort on board the Fiat 600e. There are also driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, LED headlights and the 10.25-inch central display in the middle of the dashboard.
