The color palette in the commercial area on the eastern outskirts of Luxembourg City is gray. Gray concrete buildings, parked cars, hardly a spot of green. The building at 9 Rue de Bitbourg, between the employment office and the tire manufacturer, is also gray.
This is where the itravel Group SA, the holding company of the financially stumbling Cologne luxury travel provider itravel, is supposed to have its headquarters. At least that’s what itravel boss Axel Schmiegelow had entered in the Luxembourg commercial register. But do the companies in this group really exist there? stern and “Capital” went on a search for clues. The results of this research probably won’t necessarily reassure Schmiegelow’s customers.
