The federal government has reacted to rising energy prices with a gas price brake. Our calculator simply shows you how high your gas costs will be in the next year:
Rising prices are making life difficult for consumers in Europe. Inflation in energy prices in particular has risen sharply in recent months. The measures taken by the Federal Government essentially cover two main areas:
Put simply: Households and small and medium-sized companies are guaranteed a gross gas price of 12 cents per kilowatt hour for 80 percent of their previous consumption – so the bill shouldn’t be more than that.
The remaining 20 percent of consumption will continue to be calculated using the provider’s prices as before. There is a similar brake for heat customers: Here the price is capped at 9.5 cents up to the 80 percent limit.
Good for consumers: The most discussed and very expensive gas surcharge has now been stopped. However, there are other charges that are added to the gas price. These include the balancing charge of 0.57 cents per kWh, the gas storage charge of 0.059 cents per kWh and the conversion charge of 0.038 cents per kWh.
