The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) has informed about this measure by the Allgäu company online at lebensmittelwarning.de with the reason “undeclared mustard ingredient”.
The bratwurst was recalled because the spice mixture used contained the allergen mustard. This is not listed in the list of ingredients and can therefore be dangerous for allergy sufferers. People with a mustard allergy risk health complications when consuming it, which in the worst case can lead to life-threatening allergic shock.
