The Federal Prosecutor’s Office is investigating suspected damage to the natural gas pipeline from Brunsbüttel to Hetlingen (Pinneberg district). The Karlsruhe authorities have begun investigations into initial suspicions of unconstitutional sabotage, a spokeswoman said. No further information is currently being provided.

Several media outlets had reported that small holes had been drilled into the tube. Upon request, the Schleswig-Holstein State Criminal Police Office referred the matter to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office. The line, which is not yet in operation, is intended to feed gas from the liquid natural gas (LNG) terminal in Brunsbüttel (Dithmarschen district) into the nationwide network.
