At the beginning of August, the US car manufacturer Fisker presented the Ronin to the world for the first time. With a press release, the company now submitted some important key figures. Accordingly, Fisker plans to build a total of 999 units of the electric sports car and to deliver them from the second half of 2025. The manufacturer has big plans for the car, which is named after the film of the same name by John Frankenheimer.
Accordingly, the five-seater electric convertible with a carbon hardtop should offer a range of around 1000 kilometers and produce more than 1000 hp. Fisker also plans four doors for the Ronin and a luxurious interior with a display in the steering wheel and one in the middle, similar to that of a Tesla. Fisker is aiming for a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in two seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h.
In order to keep the weight low, the Ronin should be made of aluminum and rely on lightweight construction, for example with 23-inch carbon rims.
The numbers show that the Ronin is more of a feasibility study: Fisker plans to build a maximum of 999 units at a price of $385,000 each.
With the Ronin coming this late, Fisker is going into direct competition with Tesla. Elon Musk is currently planning the delivery of the new edition of the Tesla Roadster for the end of 2024. Not only would it have similarly impressive performance data, but with a price of around 250,000 US dollars it would also have a financial advantage over Fisker.
However, with electric cars in this performance class, it remains to be seen whether both construction and delivery will become a reality. The said Tesla Roadster was originally supposed to roll off the assembly line in 2020 – and three years later nothing has happened.
