Only a few more days, then the first target will be reached – and four weeks earlier than planned: Around the coming weekend, the German gas storage facilities will probably be 85 percent full.
This Thursday, the value was already almost 84 percent, every day about half a percent is added. And this despite the fact that no gas has been coming to Germany for at least a few days since Wednesday through the Nord Stream 1 Baltic Sea pipeline, not even that 20 percent of the actually agreed daily volume to which Russia’s state gas company Gazprom had recently throttled delivery – because of alleged problems with turbines in a Russian compressor station.
