we Analyze in depth five electric models of different kinds, sizes and prices. Are the latest alternative for zero emission mobility that have come to Spain, and offer autonomy sufficient to cover the daily routes of the majority of users and even some departures road.
The Seat Mii (urbanite), Renault Zoe (utility), Nissan Leaf (compact type Golf), Hyundai Ioniq (hatchback) and Kia e-Niro (compact SUV) are the options chosen for the test and demonstrate that the electric models have been approved already, most of their assignments. Not able to meet yet as car only family, but more because of a lack of autonomy —from 200 to 420 miles actual in all models tested, for the shortcomings of the infrastructure of fast charging en route, which does not cover even many axes of highways.
still more expensive than their equivalent combustion, but not prohibitive, and are already within the reach of many buyers. Yes, the essential condition is the availability of parking space —whether at home, in the garage of the neighboring community or at work— to be able to install a charging station and enjoy to the maximum its advantages.
The kWh of the batteries (kilo watt hours) are the equivalent to the litres of deposit conventional, and the values of formal autonomy outlined correspond to the new cycle of approval WLTP, more close to reality than the previous NEDC. For the calculation of the costs of use has taken a price of 0.15 euros per kWh, although the reload could leave you free of charge if made of dawn (between one and seven in the morning).
CITIZEN SEAT MII ELECTRIC Price from: 19.430 euros (post charge included) formal Autonomy: 259 km Autonomy in test: 215 km Power: 83 HP Battery (capacity): 32,3 kWh Note (0 – 200): 127,5 points
The simplest option and economic. An urbanite 100% electric with four seats usable, and a small trunk. It measures 3.6 metres in length, runs with agility, and you can park with ease. The price may come down to 17.900 euros financing the purchase with the brand.
Driving
Speeds up with the nerve to the output of the lights (from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and provides benefits sufficient to exit a road or freeway, although controlling the limits of their radius of action. Stability and security are correct in any path.
Consumption
The advantage of size. It is the smallest and lightest (1.235 kg), and also the most efficient. Has spent to 13.8 kWh in the city, 10.5 in highway urban (90 km/h), the 16.8 on road tack and 13.3 on the highway (120 km/h). The final average: 12,4 kWh, 1.8 euros/100 km (normal rate).
less good
Interior is too simple, with details austere as the sheet metal of the body to the sight (on the dashboard and doors). The team series is also limited.

The next step. More size and 100 extra miles of range. It’s like a Clio (4,08 meters) and has five seats. And offers better performance and driving more serene, especially on the road. The rental of the batteries involves a minimum cost of 74 euros per month.
Driving
Responds with nerve to the throttle, and has plenty of power (135 HP) not only for city, but also to move forward on the road and keep pace on the motorway. Goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and rolls with aplomb. It emits a peculiar buzzing sound when accelerating to the background.
Consumption
More efficient on the road. The Zoe doesn’t shine at city, where he has spent 19 kWh, but then dropped to 12 on the highway (90 km/h) and 16.3 on the highway. And in the paths crooked has come to 18.8. Weighs 1.503 kilos. Average: 16,3 kWh is 2.4 euros per 100 kilometers.
less good
Details of inside finish, as the upholstery of the seats, and suspension, which filter well in general but can be rather dry on floors bumpy.

More car. The Leaf grazes the 4,5 metres of length, has plenty of power and offers a huge interior with five seats and the best boot of this test. But it is more comfortable than dynamic, and, as he runs a lot, it requires to take care of the throttle so as not to spoil the efficiency.
Driving
it Is the fastest of the five. It accelerates almost like a GTi (from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,3 seconds) and can be circular with an outlet for any scenario. But the suspensions are soft, like the touch general, to transmit more fineness and firmness to enhance the comfort.
Consumption
The weight takes its toll. The Leaf gives comparatively better results out of town. Has consumed 18,9 kWh in urban environments; low to 12.8 on the highway (90 km/h) and up to 18 on the highway and 22 in areas tacking. Average expenditure: 16,2 kWh, to 2.43 euros per 100 kilometers.
less good
The price is high (there is another version of 40 kWh, with 270 miles, from 29.900 euros) and its main disadvantage. And the weight doesn’t help, 1.756 kg.

Has the same size and habitability that the Leaf, though with format berlina and lower rates. But it stands out for its efficiency, with one of the best ratios between batteries and autonomy. It measures 4.5 metres long and meets five squares and five years of unlimited mileage warranty.
Driving
Performance and radius of action correct, and the best manageability. The Ioniq is the most agile and efficient on the road curves. The maximum torque of the steering wheel allow you to adjust the intensity of the retention to slow down to increase the recharge of the batteries.
Consumption
The lightness saves. The Ioniq is the most lightweight for its size, 1.495 kilos, as the Zoe. And take advantage of it. Has spent 9,5 kWh to 90 km/h, less than the Mii; 14,6 city, 16,2 120 km/h and the 18.2 in the road tack. At the end: 12,5 kWh on average, as much as 1.87 euros to 100 kilometers.
less good
you Have the dashboard more colorful, but the rear seats are more fair in height. And although spend little, to have smaller batteries offers a radius of action limited.
View prueba complete engine in the COMPACT SUV KIA E-NIRO Price: from 39.060 euros formal Autonomy: 455 km Autonomy in test: 420 km Power: 204 HP Battery (capacity): 64 kWh Note (0 – 200): 148,5 points
Image todocamino to the fashion, and the best relationship between what it costs and what it gives. The e-Niro, like its twin the Hyundai Kona EV, stands out for its scope, it offers good space (4,37 meters, five-seater) and is the most complete. And adds a warranty of seven years or 150,000 kilometres.
Driving
it Is about the performance of the Nissan (to 7.8 seconds in the 0 to 100 km/h) and lasts longer. The Kia is the king of performance and completes it with a good dynamism. It would be best to undertake a trip. The maximum torque of the steering wheel also enable you to regulate the retention by slowing.
Consumption
The size does not matter. The Kia is the most heavy, 55 pounds more than the Leaf, but do not accused much. Spends to 16.2 kWh to 120 km/h, 20.5 in areas tacking. But in the lower city, to 14.3 and, at 90 km/h, 11.3. And the final average is excellent for your measurements: 13,4 kWh, 2,01 euros for 100 kilometers.
less good
prices are high, at the same time that the interior design seems less worn and has a central screen small. And the weight is also excessive.

there are No winners, only a catalogue of proposals of electric mobility. The Seat Mii is the most basic, includes the fundamental at the best price and has 200 kilometers of autonomy. The Renault Zoe offers similar features, but with more interior space and consistency to hit the road and 300 miles of use. Although it costs 10,000 euros more. The Nissan Leaf is a compact, Golf, very spacious and refined inside, with the best performance, a good safety equipment and 320 kilometers of range, but expensive. The Hyundai Ioniq welcomes the batteries smaller to cut costs and weight, and cost of 2,300 euros less than the previous one, although with less range: 260 km. And the Kia e-Niro (and its clone, the Hyundai Kona) is the most complete SUV spacious and modern with a 420-kilometre radius of action per charge which meets almost as familiar to all and has the price of the Nissan.
