More than 300 farmers from Brandenburg drove to Berlin from different directions on Friday morning. With a total of 250 tractors, they are demonstrating in front of the party headquarters of the traffic light coalition against the planned cuts in agricultural diesel, as the Berlin police announced.

“The protests of the last few weeks have shown that the profession stands together and that a tipping point has been reached that was the last straw,” said Henrik Wendorff, President of the Brandenburg State Farmers’ Association, according to a statement.

According to the Brandenburg State Farmers’ Association, the farmers want to hand over a list of demands to the federal offices of the three parties. Among other things, they demand that the reduced tax rate on agricultural diesel be maintained.

In front of the Willy Brandt House, SPD General Secretary Kevin Kühnert talked to Henrik Wendorff and some of the protesting farmers. The Green Party’s political director, Emily Büning, also spoke at the rally in front of her party’s federal headquarters.
