Vilhelm Hammershøi’s painting ‘Interior from Strandgade 30’ was on Tuesday evening it the most expensive painting ever sold in Denmark.

“We are overnud happy and satisfied. We have offered and sold a painting, which is the most expensive ever, at Bruun Rasmussen,” says Kasper Nielsen, the evaluation and the owner of the auction house, shortly after the hammer falls.
He tells that he had several of Hammershøi’s works at auction on Tuesday night, where the big set all been sold for nicely over estimate.
