Sylvia Earle is probably the most famous marine researcher after Jacques-Yves Cousteau. In the USA, her homeland, she is a star, everyone knows her achievements for the preservation of the oceans. 14 years ago she started the “Mission Blue” initiative, which sets up water protection zones worldwide, whether near the Galapagos Islands or off Spitsbergen. She calls these areas “Hope Spots”.
Ms. Earle, when was the last time you went diving? Just last week, I was diving the beautiful coral reef of Isla Mujeres in Mexico.
