Thus, Nylander will appear in Tampere, where the Swedish team plays its preliminary round matches. The forward saw his Stanley Cup playoff run come to an end following the Leafs’ 2-1 loss in Game 7 of the first-round matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning last Saturday.
In 2021-2022, Nylander totaled 34 goals and 46 assists for 80 points in 81 games, adding seven points in as many playoff games. This will be his third International Ice Hockey Federation World Cup. He notably won the gold medal in 2017.
