According to the forecast of the German Weather Service (DWD), the weather in Germany will be late autumn in the next few days. On Monday it will be mostly cloudy or overcast like high fog – there will also be some drizzle. According to the forecast, it is coldest in the east and north-east. The maximum values there are still 5 degrees and then drop by around 1 degree day by day. It is milder in the west, where up to 10 degrees can still be reached occasionally at the start of the week.
Cold air from the east
According to the DWD, the weather will be a little more dynamic in the middle of the week. A powerful anticyclone over Russia will spread to Scandinavia over the course of the week. As a result, Germany is increasingly in an easterly current, with which increasingly cold mainland air is coming into the country. “Consequently, it is getting colder and colder from the east and on Thursday night the precipitation will increasingly turn to snow in the east and north-east,” explained a DWD meteorologist.
In the days that followed, it got colder and colder. Even in the west, hardly 5 degrees would then be reached. According to the DWD, a winter jacket is required in the east when the maximum values are around freezing point, and there could even be light permafrost in some regions. “But there is hardly any precipitation, so we will probably have to wait a little longer for the “Winter Wonderland”,” explained the DWD meteorologist.
