The umbrella must be held tightly when walking – it will not only be rainy on Thursday, but also stormy in Germany from the afternoon onwards. “The exact development is still uncertain,” said meteorologist Jacqueline Kernn from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach.

Gusts of between 70 and 80 kilometers per hour are likely, especially in the western half of Germany. On the peaks of the low mountain ranges and on the North Sea, the wind can be much stronger, and even hurricane-force winds are possible. On Friday morning the low will move away and the wind will die down quickly.

Otherwise it will rain a lot on Thursday with temperatures usually between 9 and 14 degrees. In the northwest it will be dry in the morning, in the north and southeast it will remain free of precipitation in the afternoon. It can rain for longer, especially in the low mountain ranges.

Friday will be mild with 7 to 13 degrees, and it will initially remain mostly dry. Showers will appear again in the west and northwest as the day progresses.

On Saturday the temperatures will drop to six to eleven degrees, and the sun can be seen in the east and southeast. Otherwise it will be partly cloudy, with occasional rain or sleet showers, and some snow may fall in the higher mountains. However, an onset of winter is not in sight.
