“Above our differences, we are all obliged to make the necessary efforts to advance in the improvement of the health system.” With these words, the Minister of Health, Alejandro Vázquez, called on Thursday for the political forces of Castilla y León to reach a “grand pact” that allows guaranteeing the “present and future” of health in the Community.
That will be one of the priorities of his department in this legislature, he assured during his appearance in Parliament to explain the lines of action that will guide the work of his team in the next four years.
For this reason, he will sit down with the rest of the political groups as soon as possible and his intention is to convene them in the “next few days” for an agreement “based on debate” and to “protect and enhance” the regional health system.
It has also promised to promote a new Public Health Law in order to “not make the same mistakes” that occurred with the arrival of the pandemic, to reorganize Primary Care and to reorganize human resources with specific measures such as developing a regulation that allows in those specialties with a shortage of professionals who can continue until the age of 70.
There will be a digital transformation of the system, with a commitment to a single electronic history that also covers the social and health field and has guaranteed the free choice of center to guarantee equal access to care
