Traveling on the Valencia Metro on Sundays is free since last May 1. An initiative of the Generalitat to counteract the effects of the general rise in prices and encourage the use of public transport during the summer season.

Like the TRAM in Alicante and Castellón, boarding the trains and trams of the Valencia Metro does not entail any cost of money or tickets for its users on Sundays until July 31.

Also, information is available through all the usual channels, public address system reminding of free transport and insurance coverage for all users even without a ticket. Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana has planned to reinforce security if necessary.

The free proposal of the Autonomous Government comes together with the price reduction of general rates and the integration of all public transport in the new Suma tickets.
