UFC Lays Groundwork for Denver Return in July

The UFC is gearing up for a return to Denver for the first time since 2018. While the location has not been officially announced yet, the promotion has secured an event permit to host a UFC Fight Night on July 13 at Ball Arena, as confirmed by Colorado Combative Sports Commission representative Lee Rasizer.

The news of the Denver event was initially brought to light by UFC featherweight Billy Quarantillo and further reported by Ariel Helwani. Initially, there were talks of the event taking place in Tampa, Florida, but it seems Denver has emerged as the frontrunner.

This upcoming event will be the eighth UFC event in Denver, with the last one taking place in November 2018 and featuring a headline bout between Yair Rodriguez and Chan Sung Jung that ended in a memorable fashion.

Previously, UFC vice president of regulatory affairs Marc Ratner had stated that the promotion had no plans of returning to Colorado after accommodating a ONE Championship event with a non-ABC ruleset. However, the recent developments indicate a change of plans, with all indications pointing towards Denver on July 13.

The fight card for July 13 includes exciting matchups such as Mariya Agapova vs. Luana Santos, Viviane Araujo vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius, Gabriel Bonfim vs. Ange Loosa, Mike Malott vs. Gilbert Urbina, Abdul Razak Alhassan vs. Cody Brundage, and Julian Erosa vs. Christian Rodriguez.
