UFC Announces Exciting New Bouts for Denver Card in July
UFC’s highly anticipated return to Denver is shaping up to be a thrilling event. On Tuesday night, UFC CEO Dana White revealed four exciting matchups set to take place at the July 13 event, adding to the already hyped headliner between Maycee Barber and Rose Namajunas.
The newly announced fights include a trio of welterweight showdowns. Fans can look forward to seeing Mike Malott face off against Gilbert Urbina, Santiago Ponzinibbio take on Muslim Salikhov, and Gabriel Bonfim go head-to-head with Ange Loosa.
Malott, with a record of 10-2-1, is eager to bounce back from his recent loss to Neil Magny in January. Meanwhile, Urbina (7-3) aims to redeem himself after a first-round knockout defeat in February. Malott is considered one of Canada’s rising UFC stars, making this matchup a must-watch for MMA enthusiasts.
In another thrilling bout, seasoned veterans Ponzinibbio (29-7) and Salikhov (19-5) will battle it out in the octagon. Both fighters are hungry for a victory after enduring a string of losses in their previous UFC fights.
The event will also feature a showdown between Bonfim (15-1) and Loosa (10-3), both determined to return to the win column. Bonfim suffered his first defeat against Nicolas Dalby, while Loosa’s win streak was halted by a no-contest result due to an accidental eye poke. Their upcoming clash promises to be a display of skill and determination.
Set to take place at the Ball Arena, UFC Denver marks the promotion’s first visit to the city since November 2018. With top flyweights Barber and Namajunas headlining the event in a five-round battle, fans can expect an action-packed night of world-class MMA competition.
