In an accident involving ten vehicles in downtown Cologne in the evening, a total of 14 people were injured, one of them seriously.
According to a police spokesman, the cars collided at 8:20 p.m. near the Lanxess Arena in Deutz for initially unknown reasons. Rescue workers were in action with a large contingent.
Debris was scattered around the scene of the accident. A car with the front completely torn open lay on the roof of a small car. Some of the other vehicles also showed some severe external damage. It was initially unclear how the accident happened.
