There are moments like this again and again in a concert, in pop, in jazz or in a very classic way with strings and wind instruments: that the music carries you away like a gust of wind, musician and listener merge into one. The hall – it takes off. “It’s just happened to me a lot,” says Cate Blanchett. “When I was conducting, it felt like I was blowing up with a large group of people. It got me hooked, that’s why I love my job.”

In “Tár” Blanchett plays a female conductor, the fictional director of the Berlin Philharmonic, who has won all the major awards. Blanchett is the favorite for the Oscars on March 12.
