The small community of Kampen on Sylt has tightened its beach rules. In 2022, there were abuses on the beach, such as vandalism, pollution from celebrations and the use of drones, according to a proposal adopted by the municipal council at the end of February to tighten the statute on the restriction of public use on the sea beach. The SHZ reported on Friday. In the future, it will be forbidden to camp on the beach, celebrate loudly or play music, beg and drink alcohol in large quantities. In addition, no drones are allowed to fly.
Kampen is considered the classiest bathing resort on Sylt. Last summer, punks were temporarily on the island in connection with the offer of the Germany-wide nine-euro ticket. They camped in a protest camp in a park in front of Westerland town hall. There were also demonstrations by left-wing activists. This had caused unrest on the holiday island.
